A Dragonfly in Winter
Clearwater, South Carolina is the home of serene salt marshes, friendly neighbors and a science minded high school senior, Kaiulani Crisman. As the daughter of the pastor of a mega church and granddaughter of the first Black District Court Judge, Kai is expected to succeed. As a matter of fact, her parents already have her life planned out for her. But this descendant of Gullah slaves loves the adventure of being out in nature where she hears the heartbeat of her ancestors and the whispering flutter of dragonfly wings. While out in the field, Kai realizes that something isn't quite right. The dragonflies have disappeared. When she and her friends try to unravel this mystery, they discover that a local Gullah farmer stands to lose his peach farm to the unscrupulous Mayor Saenz, a close friend of her father. Will Kai take a stand for what's right even if it means hurting the ones she loves most?

Another WIP
It's the summer of 1976. The entire country is abuzz with bi-centennial festivities, women celebrating their liberation from kitchen aprons, and the US Women's swim team is aglow with the hopes and dreams of winning Olympic Gold at the summer games. Fourteen-year-old Bridget---the star swimmer at Camp Willow---is expected to carry their celebrated swim team to victory too. But something goes terribly wrong and she learns that being a champion isn't just about winning. It's about overcoming obstacles in the face of insurmountable odds.
Evermore is a world where nothing is what it seems. Pricilla, the protagonist, thinks she has it all. A starring role in a hit show and romance. But she soon learns that in Evermore, her fate has already been decided.
***Currently, this play is written as a short drama and was produced by Westchester Collaborative Theater for their production of Terror Tales. Soon, it will be undergoing development to become a full length musical. Fingers crossed!
